Analytical and Laboratory Services

Fort Bend Services has a complete water oriented analytical laboratory, located in Stafford, Texas. The laboratory is staffed by Chemists and Microbiologists and is fully equipped for its purposes. It operates primarily to support our water treatment clients on an immediate as needed basis. Our laboratory also performs analyses and consulting services for other water treatment companies. Its capabilities include the following:
Classical wet chemistry analyses for water, wastewater, and water-borne deposits. These methods utilize titration, muffle furnace, gravimetric analysis, and all conventional qualitative and quantitative inorganic techniques.
Visible Increased Magnification and Spectrophotometric analysis.
Infrared spectrophotometry using a computerized data bank.
Atomic absorption and atomic emission spectroscopy for accurate low level determinations of metals in water.
Ion exchange resin analysis, including salt splitting capacity, total anion and cation capacity tests, microscopic examination of resin foulants and contaminants, and resin cleaning recommendations.
Dionex ion chromatograph for accurate quantitative determination of most ionic species in water or deposits. Our system is interfaced with a computer for data handling.
Autotitrator System for routine determinations of pH, alkalinities, chlorides, and others.
Autoanalyzer System configured to simultaneously determine various forms of phosphorous present in water and interface with computer for data handling. This unit performs ultra low silica and sodium analysis for steam purity analysis for GE and Westinghouse High Pressure Turbines and hospital steam purity, as well as amine determination for steam that meets USDA requirements.
General and specific microbiological determination, including Legionella.
Laboratory analysis of corrosion coupons using ASTM approved methods for coupon preparation and cleaning with computerized weighing and reporting.
